SWIMMING LESSONS FOR PEOPLE WITH A ADDITIONAL NEEDS IN VALENTINE


At Valentine Hydrotherapy Pools, we run weekly lessons for people with an intellectual disability. Instructor, Ellena Morris is:

  • A fully accredited Learn to Swim disability teacher
  • A fully accredited Australian swimming coach
  • A national classifier for people with disabilities

Since 1990, Ellena has been heavily committed and involved with Special Olympics Australia as an Aquatics Sports Coordinator for the Hunter Valley branch and Head Aquatics Coach. For more than 45 years, she has coached people with an intellectual disability and helped them achieve their sporting goals.

Valentine Swim School offer private classes and
positions for children that require additional support aged 5 months - 18 years. We understand they have varying needs

and progress at their own pace, and we encourage and support their unique abilities.

Rainbow Club is an independent service held at Valentine Pools each Sunday from 9-1pm. Their unique "Swim the Rainbow" program has been specially designed to teach children with a disability using structure, reward and progress in a social, fun and supportive aquatic environment.
