Valentine Hydrotherapy Pools Incorporated (VHP) is a registered charity primarily providing a facility for the disabled and is managed by volunteers, for the benefit of the community.

This lovely facility, which has been in operation for over 50 years, started with an oil fire heated 25m pool.  The complex has since grown and developed  and now hosts a 25m pool, a 15m pool, a hydrotherapy pool (all of which are gas / solar heated indoor pools), and an open air toddlers pool.

VHP is a place where people come to swim laps, have a swim on a hot day or just to relax.  However, it is also a very important provider of hydrotherapy treatment to the disabled, ill, aged and injured.  For those unable to drive or travel by public transport, VHP provides a bi-weekly pick up and return bus service (south to Caves Beach / north to Boolaroo).  The Valentine Swim School also operates from this facility and teaches children to swim and conducts aqua fitness classes throughout the week.

Come over and enjoy the facilities and help support this vital service to the community.

Although VHP provides many health benefits to the community, it receives no financial aid from State or Federal government. In times of increasing costs, particularly energy, it is a challenge for VHP to provide its much needed services to the community. The 3 main pools are heated by gas, and if you have domestic gas, you will appreciate the costs involved.  This is the reason for collecting admission fees, selling swimwear, food and drinks, as well as doing some fundraising activities.  All money raised through these activities is used to keep the complex up and running.

Although the pool is situated on council land, it is not a council pool and the pool pays normal rates.  The pool is also not owned by the Swim School, nor the volunteers or the volunteer management committee.

The Valentine Swim School also operates from this facility and teaches children to swim and conducts aqua fitness classes throughout the week.

VHP also provides Special Needs learn to swim and squads, which are run by a fully accredited Learn To Swim Disability Teacher / Australian Swimming Coach / Australian Swimming Coach for Special Olympics.

VHP and the swim school are separate bodies but work together towards the mutual  benefit of the centre.

Volunteers work 2 or 4 hour shifts in the kiosk to collect admission fees, provide food and drinks and sell swim gear.

In accordance with NSW Government Smoke Free Environment Act,
SMOKING IS BANNED at VHP
